Research / CA Research Network

The Central Asia Research Network CARN is an open and growing network of young academics conducting research in and about Central Asia. Its aim is to facilitate the exchange of ideas and the discussion of research projects through personal contacts, in meetings and via other events. The focus, however, is not limited to academic knowledge. The network also seeks input from individuals who are professionally active in Central Asia and thus eager to share intellectual and pragmatic approaches. CIMERA facilitated and participated at the first CARN meeting in Geneva, which took place in November 2000. Some members of CARN are now working with CIMERA to bridge the gap between academic and practical work in Central Asia. CARN also helps students who are interested to study or teach at an university in Kyrgyzstan.
